Module One
Building Indigenous Process and Pathways to Economic Sovereignty
Tuesday May 22nd (12 PM) – Thursday May 24th (12 PM), 2018
Sudbury, ON
Fully funded by IESO
Concept
This two-day module is foundation-building for First Nations communities on how to evaluate, implement and work with proponents through a meaningful process. Instructors will work with participants to supplement and support participants’ knowledge to develop a meaningful cultural process, and pathways to capacity-building and opportunities for financial engagement including partnerships, and sole
proprietorship. The workshop will combine pre-course reading, in-class lecture, reference materials, and case study clinic. The case study clinic will draw upon participants’ existing knowledge to develop or discuss relevant project matters.
Module One provides space for First Nation practitioners to continue building relationships formed at the Foundations Course in August 2017. It delivers a hands-on, project-focused working session as requested through participants’ feedback.
