Joselyn Keeshig, Manager of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation (SON) Environment Office and proud member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. The Environment Office coordinates the Duty to Consult in the Traditional Territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation [SON]. SON is collectively the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation and the Chippewas of Saugeen First Nation.

Joselyn attended both Sheridan College and the University of Toronto but says that her most important education has come from working with First Nations. She describes her career 30- year career as ‘having come full circle. “I spent 30 years working and building up my skills and knowledge, and now I am fortunate to put all that in working for my community, my Nation.

Joselyn spent 4 years as SON Renewable Energy Coordinator, and in 2014 became she became Manager. Her most notable work includes coordinating the duty to consult for 26 renewable energy projects, technical support for the B2M LP (SON’s partnership with Hydro One) and on consultation issues related to fishing, Ontario Power Generation, Bruce Power.
